Description
Santon House is a substantial 17th century timber-framed house that has undergone alterations and additions. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features four bays, with the left bay having a returned gable end. The house has a high-pitched tiled roof that is half hipped on the right side and includes two gabled dormers that appear more modern. There is one original ridge stack and one later addition. The first floor is hung with diamond tiles, while the ground floor is constructed of red brick with some grey headers. The house has large modern leaded casements set in oak frames, and there is a canted bay with a hipped tiled roof. A porch is set into the projecting left bay. Inside, the house showcases much exposed large square framing, ceiling beams, and a wide inglenook. There are modern extensions to the right and rear of the building.
