Description
Flanchford Farmhouse is a building that dates from the early 18th century but likely hides an older timber-framed structure beneath its exterior. The farmhouse has two spans, featuring a front that is two storeys high with one wide bay and three very wide bays. It is constructed of purplish-red brick laid in Flemish bond and has a gable-ended tiled roof with rebuilt stacks. The windows are 19th-century casements with one bar, consisting of two, three, and four lights, all set under cambered relieving arches. The entrance features a six-panel door with a glazed top, framed by a moulded wood architrave, and is complemented by a late 19th-century gabled porch. The rear span displays a banded tile-hung first floor with a pronounced bellcast, red brick below, and some remnants of timber framing. Additionally, there are 19th-century cambered or four-centred relieving arches over the doors and windows. Flanchford Farmhouse is part of a group that includes the Threshing Barn and Granary.
