Description

The threshing barn located to the west of Flanchford Farmhouse dates from around 1700. It features a five-bay design with a timber frame set on a brick foundation, covered with weather-boarding and topped with a tiled roof. The barn has very stout main posts and a half rail, as well as arch-braced tie beams and queen strut trusses. Long, straight wind braces support both the roof and the walls. Flanchford Farmhouse, the threshing barn, and the granary together form a group.
