Description
Manor House Cottages, located at No 8 on the east side of High Street, dates back to 1614. This 18th century building features a painted brick elevation and stands two storeys tall. The ground floor has three sash windows and a door to the left, while the first floor has three additional sash windows. The eaves and gutter are moulded, and the ridge tile roof has one end that is hipped. There are three small flat-roofed leaded dormers and two painted brick stacks in the centre. The entrance includes an 18th century panelled door with a top light and a flat projecting moulded hood above, accessed by two steps. The sash windows have glazing bars and are set under flat segmental brick arches. Originally, this house was part of the stable buildings belonging to the Manor House. Nos 6 to 24 (even) form a group with this building.
