Description
The Star Inn, located at No. 13 Horsefair, is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall with an attic. It is constructed of painted brick and features a toothed brick eaves cornice and an old tile roof. The building has two hipped dormers and three sash windows on the first floor, with the central window being three panes wide. On the ground floor, there are two similar sash windows, and all the glazing bars are intact. The entrance has a six flush panel central door framed by an architrave and topped with a thin flat hood supported by bold double scroll brackets. This door is accessed by three steps that have wrought iron rails with twisted standards. To the right of the entrance, there is a modern wrought iron sign bracket of good design, along with a modern enamelled sign. The Star Inn is part of a group that includes Nos 5 to 13 (odd) and Rydal House, which are collectively significant with Nos 37 and 39 Church Street.
