Description

Giffords Cottages, Nos 1 to 3, are a range of cottages forming an L-shape, with a front section dating to the 17th century and a rear wing potentially of earlier origin. The cottages are two storeys high. The front has a painted brick ground floor and tile hanging to the first floor, topped by an old tiled roof that is hipped at one end. An external brick chimneystack is located on the left. There are three casement windows and simple doorcases. The right-hand bay and wing appear to be a 17th or earlier timber-framed structure, possibly originally an open hall. This section also has a ground floor of painted brick, a first floor of tile hanging, and a hipped tiled roof terminating in a gablet.
