Description

Giffords is a building from the mid-18th century that was given its current exterior by a lawyer named Thomas Williams. It has two storeys, attics, and a semi-basement. The structure is made of brown brick, featuring red brick window dressings, a stringcourse, and pilasters on either side of the central window bay. The roof is tiled and includes two dormers, while the eaves cornice is painted wood. There are five sash windows with intact glazing bars, and the ground floor windows and dormers have curved heads. The doorcase is topped with a wide flat hood supported by brackets. Although the interior has not been seen, it is reported to contain a priest hole.
