Description

The Wrott Charity Almshouses, located on the west side of Main Road in Sutton-at-Hone, were founded by Katherine Wrott in 1597. This building is two storeys high with attics and is constructed of red brick, topped with a tiled roof. It features four casement windows and one modern dormer. The pointed, arched doorcases add to its architectural character. A tablet is positioned in the center of the first floor, adorned with two small cartouches and the inscription: "Katherine Wrott, widow, late wife of Robert Wrott Esquire, 1597."
