Description

Vale Lodge is an early 19th-century stucco-fronted house located on Bradbourne Road. It is a two-storey building with a Welsh slate roof and eaves and gutters along the roofline. The front facade originally had three windows, but a two-storey addition has been built to the right. The main section features a central panelled door with bottle glass panels above, sheltered by a projecting canopy supported by trelliswork. The ground floor windows on either side of the door are sash windows with moulded stucco surrounds and projecting entablatures supported by console brackets. The first floor also has three sash windows within moulded stucco surrounds. The later addition to the right mirrors the main section with coupled sash windows on both floors. Ornamental spearhead cast iron railings run in front of the house, with a central gate. The railings are flanked by painted brick piers topped with ornamental plaster balls.
