Description
The Clock House is a building located on Clock House Lane, originally constructed as a private chapel by Sir Ralph Bosville of Bradbourne House in 1614. It served as a chapel until the early 19th century when it was converted into a dwelling. The building features elements from the 17th century and early 19th century, consisting of a main wing and a tower. It is two storeys high and built of stone rubble. The windows are casement style with small square leaded panes. The west front has two windows with dummy point tops, while the south front is similar and features a gable above. The tower, located in the south-west corner, was originally crenellated, but the crenellations have been filled in with brick. A modern wooden observation platform has been added, along with a modern wing to the east.
