Description

This coal taxpost, located about 30 yards from the bungalow on the south side of Cray Road/Crockenhill Road in Crockenhill, was erected in 1861. It is made of cast iron and features a square shape with chamfered sides and moulded caps. The post bears a shield from the City's Arms and is classified as number 202 type 2 in "The Coal Duties of the City of London and their Boundary Marks" published in 1972.
