Description

The barn at Middle Farm is a timber-framed structure dating from the late 17th century to the early 18th century. It is clad in weatherboarding, with some sections tarred, and the roof is now covered in corrugated iron. There is a hipped cart entrance on the east side, where the original cart doors have been replaced with 20th-century garage doors. The barn consists of four bays, although it originally had more, as the top of the wall plate has been sawn through to the north. The upright posts mainly feature cut profiles, the wall frame includes mid rails, and the roof is supported by angled queen struts and purlins, with no ridge piece present.
