Description

Nos 1 to 4 Linden Square are a range of timber-framed buildings dating from the 17th century or earlier, which were refronted in the early 19th century. The buildings are two storeys high. No 1 projects at a right angle to the other buildings and features a weatherboarded first floor and a timber-framed ground floor with brick filling. All the buildings have high-pitched tiled roofs and there are a total of nine windows across the range. Nos 2 to 4 have stuccoed fronts with incised lines and a corbelled brick eaves cornice. They feature sash windows with vertical bars in exposed frames, and plain doors with rectangular fanlights set in swell, reeded surrounds topped with pediments. No 1 has a part red brick elevation facing London Road and includes sash windows with glazing bars. Nos 1 to 7 form a group.
