Description
Nos 70 and 71 Northgate are 17th century timber-framed buildings that were refronted in the 19th century. They are two storeys tall with attics and are finished in stucco, featuring two hipped weatherboarded gables with tiled roofs. Number 71 has two three-light sash windows and a 19th-century shop front that includes four pilasters, each adorned with a lion's head on the capital and panelled risers. Number 70 features an overhang and a section faced with fishscale tiles, along with sash windows and a later 19th-century shop front. Nos 60 to 71 Northgate form a group.
