Description

The Old School House is a mid-19th century symmetrical building located on Glebe Road, Weald, Sevenoaks. The building comprises a one-and-a-half-storey central section with a high-pitched gable, and single-storey, one-window side wings beneath a low-pitched slate roof. It is situated between two sets of Almshouses, with their forecourt walls forming a group. The exterior is constructed of roughly coursed rubble with freestone quoins and dressings, featuring coved stone eaves soffits. The windows are all lancet windows, arranged in groups of three in the side wings, and a single window in the attic. A gabled porch with two-centred arches at the front and sides shelters a plank door also set within a two-centred arch. A coat of arms is positioned above the entrance. Short side screen walls flank the building, each containing a pointed arched entrance.
