Description

Wentways is a building dating from the 15th or early 16th century, representing half of a small Wealden house. It is concealed from the road by a row of Victorian shops. The east front is weatherboarded and features two storeys with one window, along with a one-storey, one-window lean-to extension on the left. The building has a steeply pitched tiled roof with long hips at the north end and a ridge stack. On the first floor, there is an 18th-century iron casement window, while the ground floor has modern French doors. Inside, there is much exposed timber, old plank floors, and an inglenook that is partly filled.
