Description
Apple Trees is a 16th-century timber-framed cottage located in Sevenoaks Weald on Egg Pie Lane. The building has two storeys and features two windows on the entrance front, along with a long projecting modern right wing that complements the old house. It has a high-pitched tiled roof, with the first floor tile hung and the ground floor constructed of brick. The windows are small modern leaded casements, and there is a modern Dutch door with sidelights beneath a pent porch. A massive projecting chimney on the left end is made of rubble masonry with red brick dressings and a rebuilt shaft. The cottage has some modern back extensions and a low-swept roof with two modern gabled dormers. Inside, there is much exposed timber, including tongued chamfered beams on both floors.
