Description

Probably dating to the 16th century, Yew Tree Cottage is a timber-framed cottage. It is two storeys high with two windows. The roof has a steep pitch and is tiled, with a brick chimney added to an older chimney or smoke bay base, the latter formed of galletted coursed rubble. The first floor is weatherboarded at the front, while the back and sides are tile-hung. The ground floor is brick. Modern casement windows have leaded diamond panes, and a modern boarded door serves the entrance. Modern rear extensions have been designed to be in keeping with the original structure. A projecting chimney extension is located on the left-hand side. Inside, some heavy exposed timbers and chamfered beams are visible.
