Description
Pond Cottage is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed house located on the north-east side of Leigh Eggpie Lane. The building has two storeys and features four windows. It has a high-pitched, half-hipped tiled roof with an old ridge stack. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor displays visible timber framing with brick infill. The second bay from the left is constructed of galletted rubble, and the left bay is an addition that matches the original style. The cottage has some 18th century and modern casement windows with leaded diamond panes. The entrance features an old six-panel studded door with a bay post as the jamb. Inside, there are some exposed timbers, an inglenook fireplace, and old wooden and tiled floors.
