Cole Allen

Cole Allen is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier and has been restored. An additional bay has been added to the left side, which matches the original design, and there is a modern extension on the right under a gable. The building has two storeys and features three windows in the main section, with two more in the right extension. It has a high-pitched tiled roof with a ridge stack that has been partly rebuilt. The first floor is tile-hung, while the ground floor, which dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century, is made of red brick with a pattern of blue headers. The older part of the house includes 19th-century casement windows and one projecting modern square bay window, as well as an old iron casement window at the back. Inside, some heavy stop-chamfered beams are visible. The original structure was a two-bay hall with a short smoke bay.
