Description

Heathen Street Cottage is a 17th-century timber-framed building located on Harfield Road in Cowden. It stands two storeys high and features an irregular arrangement of four windows. The roof is tiled and half hipped at the right side, with an old ridge stack and two end chimneys that have offsets. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is constructed of red brick with some blue headers. The cottage has small modern casement windows and an old plank door set in a stout frame, which is sheltered by a pent tiled hood. The rear outshot displays visible timber framing with renewed brick filling, and the interior reveals exposed beams and framing.
