Description
The Buxton House Stores is an early to mid-19th century building located on Main Street in Penshurst. It is two storeys high and features three windows. The exterior is finished in stucco and includes an entablature and a blocking course, along with a string course at the first floor. The sash windows are set in eared architraves with brackets below and have glazing bars. The right window on the ground floor has a scroll-bracketed cornice. There is an altered late 19th-century double shop front on the left side. The building is noted for its group value with nearby structures, including Nos 1 & 2 (Rectory Cottages), The Leicester Arms Hotel, and Nos 1 & 2 (Leicester House).
