Description
Fir Tree House Tea Rooms is a picturesque cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century. It likely has a framed structure but features 19th-century alterations and changes to its exterior. The building is two storeys tall and has dormers, topped with a half-hipped tile roof that includes a ridge stack. The exterior is plastered and has a wide projecting stone plinth with entasis. There is a studded period door and a large bay window on the left side, which has wooden mullions and transoms, along with a continuous tiled hood that extends over both the window and door, wrapping around to the side elevation. On the right side, there is a small bay window of a similar design. On the first floor, there are two projecting bay windows with casements that are supported on carved wooden brackets.
