Description

Nos 3 and 5 TQ 4855 32/1231 2.7.74.

II GV

  1. Part of a C15 Wealden house. Tile north end missing and an C18 bay added which is No 3. 2 storeys. No 3 painted brick front, hipped tiled roof. No 5 2 windows. Steeply pitched tiled roof with hipped gable at right. Tile hung 1st floor. Visible timber framing with brick filling on ground floor. 1st floor overhanging on curved brackets. Parallel gable-ended ground floor projection with shop window. (Not now used as shop). C19 and modern casement windows. Right return shows timber framing with plaster filling and a long C17 extension of one storey and dormers. Inside much exposed timber and a Tudor stone fireplace on ground floor.
