Description
The Old Rectory is a large 18th-century house divided into three parts. It stands two storeys high with painted brick elevations, except for the western part of the north front, which is rendered. The building features hipped tiled roofs with ridges positioned at right angles. The north entrance front includes two projecting wings on the right and a set-back centre with a ground floor projection for the doorway. There are three windows in total on this front.
To the left, there is a later link to a two-storey wing with two windows, which has a moulded and modillioned eaves cornice. The rear elevation displays a two-storey, two-window section on the left, featuring flat leaded dormers above. The main entrance has a projecting porch supported by paired side columns. The centre part is a wide east wing with three windows. All windows are early 19th-century sashes with glazing bars. The main entrance features a glazed door set in a panelled reveal with a bracketed flat hood, and narrow sash windows flank it. Above the entrance, there is a radial fanlight flanked by oval windows. Inside, there is a Tuscan screen in the hall and a Regency circular staircase.
