Description

Church Hill House is a house dating to 1856, likely designed by George Devey, as indicated by a datestone over the door. The building is two storeys high with three windows. It features a high-pitched, decorative tiled roof with two pairs of ridge chimney shafts connected by a decorative cornice. The construction is predominantly red brick with a decorative pattern of pale blue headers, which also form the chimney quoins. A projecting central section is finished with a half-timbered gable, which is filled with plaster and features decorative bargeboards. Stone quoins are present on this section and at the corners of the building. The windows are 3-light iron casements set in chamfered reveals with stone sills, each with a gauged brick arched surround. A plank door, embellished with studded fillets, sits within a gauged brick Tudor arch. A single-storey extension to the right may have originally served as a workshop.
