Description

This is a headstone for Elizabeth, the daughter of Mr. John Wise, located adjacent to the headstone of Mr. John Wise at the Church of St Mary and All Saints. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of stone. The headstone is very small and features a semi-circular top with a knob protruding from the center. Each side of the headstone is shouldered to the rest of the tablet by a single ledge and cavetto. The headstone is carved with a central circular hoop crossed with two plain stems that have drooping foliage from their tips. The inscription reads: "Here lyeth ye Body of Elizabeth the Daughter of Mr. John Wise who was Buried June ye 23 1690 in the 7 year of Her age."
