Description

The building is a former barn located about 4 metres east of Willow Grove, dating from the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with the ground floor on the long right side constructed of red and grey brick, while the rest is weatherboarded. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has a half-hipped design. The barn consists of eight timber-framed bays arranged at right angles to the road and is two storeys high, sitting on a brick plinth. The left side has irregular fenestration, including three four-light windows with thin glazing bars, and a similar window on the front gable end. There is a small eight-pane bow window on the first floor towards the front of the right side, with a boarded door beneath it. The ground floor on the left side has double doors towards the rear, a boarded door in the centre, and stable doors at the front.

Inside, the principal posts have cut jowls, and there are no arch-braces to the tie-beams. The roof features clasped purlins and is ceiled above the collar. The first-floor walls are lined with flush, horizontally-laid tiles. The barn is included for its group value.
