Description

Wisteria Cottage is an early 18th-century house located on the north-west side of Lees Road in Yalding (formerly High Street, East-West Arm). Originally known as Lees Cottage, and occupied by a Mr Neate, it is timber-framed with significant later alterations.

The ground floor is largely red brick in stretcher bond, with one framed panel on each side of the central door, featuring a lacing piece and herringbone top course. The first floor is pebbledashed, while the left and right half-gables are tile-hung. The roof is tiled, featuring a half-hipped design and a central rear brick stack. There are two small hipped dormers with moulded cornices and leaded two-light casement windows. The front elevation has a regular arrangement of three windows, with leaded casements featuring ovolo-moulded architraves; three-light windows are on the right and left, and a two-light window is in the centre. A central ribbed door is set within a red and grey brick porch with a hipped plain tile roof. A tile-hung lean-to with garage doors extends to the right, and a rear lean-to is also present. The interior has not been inspected.
