3/56 Oasthouse about 30 metres west of Tanner House

GV II Oasthouse. C19 and early C20. Kilns red and grey brick in Flemish bond, stowage red brick to north end, weatherboarded above an open ground floor to centre and south. Plain tile roof. Rectangular 2- storey stowage, with 2 kilns to north gable end and 3 to long east side, that towards south end of greater diameter. 4 ground-floor bays of stowage open to west on posts. Cogged brick eaves cornices to kilns. Conical roofs with cowls to kilns, gabled roof with plain bargeboards to stowage. Large gabled eaves dormer with double doors for loading, to west side of stowage. Rectangular louvred light to each side of it to first floor below, and 2-light casement towards right end, all within weatherboarded section. Two north kilns each have boarded north-west door to base and small boarded hatch further up wall. 2 -storey cottage to south end, set back from west side of stowage. Interior: slatted floors to kilns. Vestiges of hearths.
