Description
This is a barn located about 60 metres north of Nos. 1 and 2 Moat Cottages, dating from the early 19th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, topped with a plain tile roof. The barn features five timber-framed bays and a rear aisle, with a half-hipped roof. There are central full-height double doors and low doors in the aisle opposite. The front elevation has a weatherboarded lean-to that stops before the double doors.
Inside, the barn has long cut jowls on the principal posts, arch-braced arcade plates, and aligned butt purlins that are staggered in the midstrey bay. It also has collared rafters, vertical queen struts to the collars flanking the midstrey, straight windbraces, and studding with straight tension braces. Nos. 1 and 2 Moat Cottages are not listed.
