Description

The Nortons is a house dating from the 17th century or early 18th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame, with the left side of the ground floor constructed of red and grey brick in English bond, exposing the left end post and a post to the left of the porch. The right side of the porch is made of red and grey brick in Flemish bond. The first floor is tile-hung, and the building has a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high, set on a brick plinth, with a shallow-pitched hipped roof. There is a multiple red and grey brick stack located to the left of the centre. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of four casements: one two-light to the left, another under the stack, and two three-light casements to the right. The entrance features a ribbed door in a small gabled red brick porch situated under the stack. To the left, there is a later rear return wing with a red and grey brick ground floor, a tile-hung first floor, and a plain tile roof hipped to the rear. There is also a central rear wing adjoining the left wing, built with similar materials and maintaining the same eaves line and roof style. The interior has not been inspected.
