Description

Parapet House is an early 19th century house, with an early to mid-19th century addition, situated on the south side of Maidstone Road, Lenham. The building is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof. It is positioned at a right angle to the road and is two storeys in height, featuring an eaves band and a plain brick-coped parapet. The roof is hipped, and there is a rear stack to the right. The front elevation has a regular pattern of three recessed glazing bar sash windows, each with rubbed brick voussoirs. The front door has fielded panels, a moulded architrave, a shallow flat dentilled hood, and a two-light rectangular fanlight above. A red brick addition is set back from the front elevation to the right, with a hipped plain tile roof and one recessed glazing bar sash window with rubbed brick voussoirs. A lower, two-storey addition extends to the rear, with one three-light casement window visible to the road. The interior has not been inspected.
