Description

Candy Cottage and Townwell Cottage is a house that has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the early 17th century or earlier, with a facade added in the 19th century. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the first floor is tile-hung. The building has a plain tile roof and stands two storeys high on a stone plinth. It features a hipped roof with hips that return with lower ridges. There is a brick ridge stack located to the left of the center, with another stack positioned behind it. The windows are arranged irregularly, consisting of two casements: one with four lights and the other with two lights. The entrance to Candy Cottage has a boarded door with a shallow hood located under the stack, while Townwell Cottage has a half-glazed door on the right side. The building also has short return wings on both the right and left sides. The interior has not been inspected.
