Description
The White House is a house located on Broad Street in Sutton Valence, dating from the later 18th century, possibly incorporating an earlier core, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of red and grey brick and features a plain tile roof. It has two storeys, a garret, and a basement set on a brick plinth with a rendered base. At each end, there are giant brick pilasters, and a moulded wooden eaves cornice runs around them. The roof is half-hipped to the right, with a brick stack on the left end and a rear stack on the right side of the rear wing.
The front facade includes two 2-storey canted bays from the mid-19th century, each topped with cornices over the ground and first floor windows. The central window is a 4-pane glazing-bar sash in an open box. The central door consists of four fielded panels and two top lights, topped by a corniced bracketed hood, and is accessed by two steps. The central rear wing is also part of the structure. The interior has not been inspected.
