Description
The Limes is a house that has been converted into two cottages. Originally built in the 17th century, it was remodeled in the 19th century. The structure is made of brick, featuring a zig-zag diaper pattern on the front and a diamond pattern on the left gable wall and rear, with flint used as well. It has a pantiled roof and is rectangular in shape, with a late 19th-century extension at the back.
The facade has four bays and stands two storeys tall. On the ground floor, there is a three-light 19th-century casement window in the left bay, followed by a tiled porch supported by brackets leading to a 20th-century door. Next is a single-light casement window, another similar door with porch, and finally another three-light 19th-century casement. The first floor features casement windows arranged as three-lights, one-light, one-light, and three-lights. The house has one central axial stack and two gable stacks. The left gable has a blocked light on both the ground and first floors, as well as a small blocked light, which may have been for a stairway.
