Description

Bensley House is a house dating from the 19th century. It is constructed from flint with gault brick dressings, and has a pantile roof. The building has an irregular plan, with a two-storey central gabled bay that is hipped to the rear. The front features a plank door with muntins, accompanied by a leaded two-light casement, all sheltered by a double hood mould. Above, a single two-light casement is similarly adorned with a hood mould. A wavy barge board is present. An axial stack incorporates four polygonal shafts. A single-bay, two-storey wing is set back to the left, with a leaded two-light casement on each floor, both with hood moulds, and overhanging eaves. A single-storey range is set back to the right of the central bay, featuring a two-light casement and a hipped roof. A later 19th-century extension is visible to the rear.
