Description

Nursery Farmhouse and Pitt Cottage are a pair of cottages dating back to the 18th century, although with an earlier core. The walls are constructed of flint and chert rubble with brick detailing, topped with a thatched roof. The building is rectangular in plan, with 19th and 20th century extensions to the rear. It has four bays across two storeys. The windows are leaded casements, with the ground floor of the first and second bays containing casements in larger, partially blocked openings, featuring brick reveals. A 20th century porch is located between the bays, and a 20th century glazed door sits between the third and fourth bays. A first-floor opening in the first bay is similarly housed within a larger, partially blocked opening. A central axial stack is present, along with two gable-end stacks. The gable walls feature a platband and a brick gable.
