Description
Williams and Glyn's Bank, dating from around 1890, is designed in the style of the Grand and New Metropole Hotels. This two-storey building is constructed of red brick with buff tiled dressings and features a green slate roof. The front elevation includes a corner octagonal turret. Number 132 has a three-light canted bay that extends through all floors and a modern shop front. The bank section has a Venetian window on the first floor and a cambered window on the ground floor. The left side elevation features three dormers with double sash windows topped with modern curved pediments. There are also two octagonal turrets adorned with wreaths, two paired cambered sash windows, a Venetian window, and three small round-headed lights. The building has string courses between the floors and a plinth. A doorcase is set in the corner, complete with balustrading above and rusticated Tuscan columns. Another doorcase has plain brick pilasters with tiled capitals.
