Description

The Coaching House, dated to the mid-19th century, is located on Lister Way, Sandgate, and comprises what were formerly numbers 1 and 2 Coombe Cliffe. The building is pebbledashed with a slate roof, with a hipped section on the extreme right. Number 1 projects slightly and features two cambered sash windows above a cambered doorcase with a rectangular fanlight. Adjacent to this is a probable tourer coach house, distinguished by a wooden louvred cupola topped with a weathervane. The coach house has round-headed arcading rising through two storeys, incorporating cambered short sashes on the first floor and larger cambered sashes on the ground floor. Former number 2 exhibits cambered sash windows with intact glazing bars, alongside a simple doorcase with a rectangular fanlight.
