Description
Newton Cottage and Rose Cottage are a mid-19th century pair of houses located on Sandgate Hill. They are two storeys tall and have weatherboard cladding with a hipped tiled roof. The buildings feature four sash windows with intact glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two three-light canted bay windows that have verticals only. Each house has a simple doorcase with a wooden weatherhood supported by brackets, along with rectangular fanlights above the doors. These cottages, along with Nos 56 to 64, form a group.
