Description

The gatepiers to The White Lodge are located on the south side of Castle Road in Sandgate. They consist of two square piers made of brick and stone, each topped with stone figures of a reclining lion and lioness. These gatepiers are part of a group that includes No 2 Sandgate Castle, The Hermitage, York Cottage, and Nos 12 to 16 (even), as well as the gatepiers to Nos 12 to 16 (even). All these buildings are considered to have local interest.
