Description
No. 53 on High Street in Sandgate is a 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall and features weatherboarding on the upper part of its front elevation, which is faced with brick. It has a hipped tiled roof with a parapet that includes stone coping. The front has two sash windows with intact glazing bars, and a carriage lamp is positioned between them. On the right side, there is an early 19th-century doorcase that has a flat hood supported by brackets, pilasters, panelled reveals, and a rectangular fanlight above the door. The left side has a shop door with a rectangular fanlight, and the roof has three hips on the rear elevation.
