Description

SANDOWN ROAD 1. 1035 (West Side) No 1 TR 3753 SE 2/115 II GV 2. A corner house. Early C19. 3 storeys with a cemented front. Eaves cornice. 2 windows facing Sandown Road and 3 windows facing Alfred Square. Glazing bars missing. Modern shop windows. Good doorcase in Sandown Road with leaf capitals, pediment, semi-circular fanlight and 6 panel moulded door. Later doorcase in Alfred Square with architrave over supported on consoles and with rectangular fanlight. No 1 forms a group with Nos 1 to 8A (consec) Alfred Square.
