Description

Nos 7 and 8 Alfred Square form an early 19th-century pair of buildings. They are originally red brick, although No 7 has been stuccoed. Both have a tiled roof and three storeys over a basement. Each property features one sash window per floor, with glazing bars intact. No 8 retains shutters on its ground-floor windows. A modern bow window has been inserted into the ground floor of No 7. No 7 has a doorcase with a cornice and pilasters, while No 8 features a round-headed doorcase with a keystone. Nos 1 to 8b (consec), together with No 1 Sandown Road, form a notable group.
