Description

This icehouse, located about 25 meters southwest of The Grove, dates from the mid-18th century and is constructed of red brick. It features an arched entrance passage that leads down to a barrel-vaulted chamber, which measures approximately 6 feet by 15 feet. The icehouse is associated with the last mansion of the Groves, built for Sir William Lynch, and is part of a historical context that includes the former stabling, now houses, a walled garden, and a dovecot, which still survive nearby.
