Description

The Dovecote is a dovecote that has been converted into a house. It was built in the mid-18th century for Sir William Lynch and underwent alterations in the late 20th century. The structure is made of plum brick with red brick dressings and features a plain tiled roof. It has an octagonal plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, topped with an octagonal roof that includes a skylight and a central stack. The building has irregularly placed glazing bar sash windows and a boarded door on the south side. In the late 20th century, a one-storey octagonal entrance porch and room were added, constructed in red brick, featuring top lights, metal-framed windows, and a boarded door. The Dovecote is included for group value as part of the stable and garden complex associated with the now-demolished mansion of Graves.
