Description

The Groves consists of a mid-18th century stables building, later converted into a row of houses. Originally built for Sir William Lynch, the building is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It features a blind panelled parapet to the hipped roof, with stacks positioned on the left and right sides. The first floor has six wooden casements, while the ground floor has four. The right half of the building presents windows at a lower level than the left; the left-hand windows have keyed heads. A panelled door is located on the left-hand side, with a half-glazed porch situated to the right. There is another entry on the left return. Initially the stable block for Grove House, it was converted to residential use following the demolition of the mansion in 1843.
