Description

Reed Cottage is a 17th-century house located on Buck Land Lane in Staple. It is constructed of painted brick and features a thatched roof. The building has one storey and an attic, set on a plinth with a plat band and kneelered gables. There are two raking dormers and a central stack on the right side. The cottage has two metal casement windows and one wooden casement window on the right. The entrance is a central rib and stud door, which is topped by a flat hood and flanked by shallow brick pilasters. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot, with the gable coping extended along its length, making it an integral part of the original structure.
