Description

6 and 8 Middle Street are a pair of cottages dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. They are two storeys and have an attic, with stuccoed exterior walls. The roof is tiled, with one modern dormer window on each side, and No. 6 has a shaped Dutch gable. Each cottage has one sash window; the glazing bars are missing from No. 6. The doorcases feature pilasters and a cornice above, and each has an 8-panel moulded door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed. The cottages are part of a group that includes Nos. 2 to 16 (even) Middle Street, Chevne Cottage, No. 9 South Street, and Nos. 1 and 2 Crown Court.
